On Being Wrong
Dear Self,
I've always struggled with accepting my mistakes. No matter how small or trivial it is, I just hate being wrong. But, you know what? In this field, in Medicine (and Pathology, in particular), you can't always be right. There will be opinions that go against yours; there will be times when you really will be at fault.
I think that I've gotten better at handling my mistakes or in managing situations wherein someone doesn't agree with me. I have learned to take other's opinions in stride and ultimately decide, after much thought, whether or not it is even worth considering. Less arguments, more listening.
Finding the balance between standing firm and being flexible with your beliefs is, undoubtedly, tricky. I am continuously working on it, for it is a process that greatly aids my personal growth. Because, whether I like it or not, I will always have to deal with people in almost every aspect of my daily life.
Sincerely,
Lagundi
