Satire, Sarcasm, and People Who Don't Get It

Dear Self, It was another strange and disturbing day today. I made this satirical post on social media yesterday about opening a job for a wife. In the post, I had joked about the relationship not having any intimacy and that the required skills would include driving and a couple of chores. Obviously, this is a joke and most people got the context of it - I, basically, don't want to get married, and, at the same time, don't know any household chores. So it was a funny way of displaying it. Unfortunately, not everyone found it funny. One person on my list was actually offended and couldn't see that it was just a joke. I eventually decided to put down the post to avoid any further discussion. Also, her comment made several of my friends angry at her. In other words, what started as a funny, nonsensical post spiraled into negativity. I guess a good realization here is that sometimes, even if it wasn't your intention, people tend to interpret things differently. And...
